Microphone use

After you start tracking and grant permission, Sneeze Counter receives microphone audio to recognize possible sneezes with on-device sound recognition. Processing can continue when the screen closes while the audio session remains active. Audio buffers are temporary; the app does not create audio recordings or send audio to us or another server.

Pause tracking stops this session. The operating system may interrupt it. If Resume when opened is enabled, reopening the app attempts to resume tracking; it does not restart the microphone automatically in the background. Manage microphone permission in the Watch’s privacy settings.

What stays on your Watch

The app stores journal entries containing timestamps, counts, optional context, and whether an entry was detected automatically or entered as a correction. It stores local preferences such as tap feedback and Resume when opened. The Watch app and its complication share access to this local journal so they can display your total.

There is no Sneeze Counter account, backend, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, location collection, Health data access, phone sync, or cloud journal. The app does not collect data from the device for the developer.

Retention and deletion

Entries remain on your Watch until you delete them. Remove individual entries in History or use Delete all entries in Settings. Pause tracking first to prevent new automatic entries. The journal is excluded from device backups. Uninstalling the app or losing the Watch can erase it, and we have no remote copy to restore.

Support messages

If you choose to email us, your email provider and ours process the message. We use your email address and the information you choose to send to respond and resolve the issue. Please do not send journal entries, audio, or sensitive health information. You may ask us to delete your support correspondence, subject to any information we must retain by law.

This website

This support site has no advertising, analytics script, account, or form. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process ordinary request information, such as IP address and browser details, to deliver and secure the pages. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Clicking an email link opens your email application.

Changes and questions

We may update this policy when the app’s handling of data changes. The effective date will identify the current version.
